Rowville house destroyed in blaze

17th May 2010

Three people fled to safety as a blaze destroyed their Rowville house this morning.

Two men and a woman, all in their 30s, managed to escape from the Seebeck Rd house after the blaze broke out just after 4am.

It took more than 20 firefighters less than 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control – but all that remains is the charred shell of the home.

The CFA estimates damage to be worth about $250,000.

Police have ruled out suspicious circumstances, saying the fire appeared to have started in the house’s chimney before engulfing the roof.
